Temporary roadway requirements are constantly changing due in part to the more adverse weather conditions we face globally but also infrastructure areas being utilised on terrain that would have previously been considered impassable. Windfarms, Solar farms, and transmission lines are increasingly being hidden away from view as planning and environmental legislation insist prime land is not used. With that being the case the question being asked more and more becomes “how do we get there”?
That’s where Emtek mats should come into your consideration…why? It’s not only a product that has kept up with the times from a material sustainability & environmental perspective but also its diverse use finds that it is the most versatile of heavy-duty temporary roadway mats that can pretty much handle any conditions, mud, bog and yes even open water…
An Emtek mat installation |
Manufactured to the highest engineering & QC standards from sustainable sources Emtek is really 3 mats in one or rather 3 systems in one – type 1, standard roadway for uniform good ground conditions – type 2, a decking system that is for more non-uniform areas containing high and low spots or undulating ground – type 3, Runners & bars whereby the conditions will not support personnel or vehicles and waders are required just to walk through the site, in essence, a floating road.
Add to that the use of modular pontoons and you can drive out on open water where there is no vegetative layer support, in literally any vehicle safely, allowing cranes and heavy vehicles to do the work they were designed for albeit on water. If that wasn’t enough not only will the Emtek systems float but they can also move to accommodate a changing water level, which in areas prone to flooding or heavy seasonal rains such as remote African villages can mean the difference between being cut off for months and complete access anywhere during the rainy season
With only minimal maintenance needed, the use of Emtek with its appropriate design and materials can really allow all year-round access to continue whatever the conditions and wherever that may be.
